Things to do in St. George, Utah
Dining, golf, wineries, hot springs, national parks, shows and weddings in and around St. George, with honest notes on timing and distance to help you choose.
If you'd like a private driver for any of it, St. George Luxury Transportation can help; visit our main site at sgltransport.com.
Restaurants & bars
St. George's dining is spread out: downtown spots, resort restaurants at Black Desert, and a cluster of restaurants and bars in Springdale at the mouth of Zion. Staying in town keeps the evening short; Springdale or Virgin makes it a longer outing with canyon views.
Reserve tables directly with each restaurant and check current hours. If the group plans to drink, deciding on one ride for everyone up front avoids a designated driver and parking at each stop.

Golf
Courses run from St. George and Washington out to Hurricane, Ivins and Mesquite, Nevada. The tradeoff is simple: a close course leaves more of the day free, while a destination course is worth the drive for a special round. Book tee times with the course, then plan the ride around them and the number of golf bags.

Wineries & tastings
Southern Utah's wineries sit outside town, so a tasting day usually means a few hours on the road between stops. Book tastings with each winery and confirm hours; a private ride lets everyone taste.

- Bold & Delaney Winery
- Zion Vineyards
- Water Canyon Winery, Hildale
Hot springs
The Zion area hot springs make an easy half-day. Book your soak with the springs first, then plan the ride around that reservation time.
National parks & outdoor tours
Zion is the closest national park; check the National Park Service for current shuttle operations, since parking near the canyon fills up. Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon North Rim are longer full-day trips with higher, cooler elevations, and the North Rim's access and season should always be checked with the Park Service before you plan.
For something different, Sand Hollow's dunes (UTV tours), a desert camel experience near Mesquite, or Brian Head's mountain in winter or summer.
Shows, nightlife & weddings
Mesquite, Nevada is the nearest option for casinos and shows; Las Vegas is a longer night with far more choice. Check each venue's calendar and buy tickets directly. For weddings, the main planning questions are how many guests move at once, and between which venues and times.
Getting here: St. George (SGU) or Las Vegas (LAS)
St. George Regional is close to town with fewer routes. Harry Reid International in Las Vegas has many more airlines and cities but a longer drive. Nonstop routes listed by Greater Zion (checked October 28, 2026); always confirm your schedule with the airline:
- Salt Lake City (SLC) – Delta, year-round
- Denver (DEN) – United, year-round
- Los Angeles (LAX) – United, year-round
- Phoenix (PHX) – American, year-round
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) – American, year-round
